PROJECT PIONEER: PERMAJET UNVEIL GROUNDBREAKING CHANGES

September '16 - PermaJet announce the conclusion to an eighteen month business development which will help photographers and artists easily identify the ideal inkjet media for their images.

Industry leaders PermaJet have recently unveiled the exciting final phase in a series of updates titled Project Pioneer.  Having gradually been introduced in three stages over the last eighteen months, these updates have overseen groundbreaking improvements to both their Fibre Based Baryta and Fine Art media. These changes have come with the intent to improve the overall experience of using PermaJet inkjet media through improving the base materials and coatings for an even higher quality end result. The update involved condensing the current options and introducing new ones, making it much simpler for users to choose the perfect media for their needs.

The updates to the Fibre Based Baryta range saw the introduction of FB Royal Gloss 310 and FB Satin 310, a combination of previous products in order to narrow down the range and make choosing media an easier process. With new enhanced coatings for flatter surfaces and improved printer loading, PermaJet ensured their media would continue to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the printing world. The success of the Fibre Based range was continued by FB Gold Silk 315 winning ‘Best Inkjet Media: Photographic Finish’ at The Photography News Awards.

PermaJet went on to upgrade their Smooth and Textured Fine Art ranges by adopting new technology processes and enhanced base materials to enable users to produce higher quality prints than ever before. This update has been highly appraised and has seen the arrival of products such as Portrait Rag 285 and Photo Art Silk 290.

The final change comes in the form of a revolutionary new packaging, signifying a fresh and modern outlook for PermaJet. Whilst the new design is clear and user-friendly, making it easier for customers and dealers to immediately identify the product, the most innovative change is the 100% acid free box. This feature allows for the packaging to effectively double as storage for prints, giving photographers a cheaper and hassle-free long term storage option.

PermaJet’s Head of Marketing, Joseph Reiner says, "The intention has always been to emphasize our product updates with a more distinctive re-design, but we are also using this opportunity to create even more unique benefits for PermaJet users and dealers."

With the continued growth in the export side of the business, international customers of PermaJet will benefit from translations in Italian, Spanish, German, French and Chinese on the reverse of the box.

PermaJet will be introducing the new packaging at Photokina 2016, where visitors will be the first to see the new design. Its official release will be completed by 1st January 2017.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MASTERPIECES AND FINE ART PAPERS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AT PHOTOKINA 2016

More News from Hahnemuehle at Photokina

Fans of the perfect print should most definitely visit the Hahnemuehle photokina booth in hall 3.1, stand A25.

Iconic photographs by Rene Staud or Martin Hausler will be on display, new products will be launched and a daily ‘artist signing’, where signed prints will be given away, will attract visitors. By purchasing one of the Hahnemuehle sample packs, the visitors support the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. In addition to this the monumental book project ‘Milestones’ from the photographer Rene Staud will be presented to the public for the first time.

‘Milestones’ – a masterpiece of automobile photography For years, the name Rene Staud has inseparably been connected with significant brands of the automotive industry. In perfect presentation, Staud lets the top brands Maserati, Audi, BMW, Bugatti and Mini – to mention just some of them – encounter contemporary art or architecture. In a collaborative project, Staud and Hahnemuehle created an imposing illustrated book featuring 286 large-scale pictures printed on Hahnemuehle Photo Rag® paper.

New paper formats and portfolio box With its unobtrusive linen look, the brand-new portfolio box is perfectly suited for high-quality presentations and the storing of fine art prints. The black box meets the ‘Photographic Activity Test’ (PAT) standard. It contains 50 sheets of FineArt Inkjet paper in the A3+ format as well as interleaf sheets and cotton gloves. The package is completed by three certificates of authenticity with holograms and available as limited edition as long as stocks last. The exclusive Pratt-Box is filled with one of the following paper grades: Photo Rag® 308, FineArt Baryta or FineArt Baryta Satin.

The popular ‘Photo Cards’ in the 10 x 15 format are available in three new grades. In addition to this mini cards the cards in the format 14.8 x 21cm (A5) are a completely new asset to the Hahnemhle range. With the sheet size 21 x 59.4cm, the portfolio now features panorama format papers in two saught-after Photo Rag® types. The Panorama paper can be printed with an A4 printer without roll feeding. The paper lies flat and the cutting out of bigger formats is no longer necessary making the printing of panoramic images much more efficient and accessible.

Artist signing and donation campaign On all the days of the exhibition, selected works of renowned photographers will be given away in limited edition as fine art prints. Detailed information will be available at blog.hahnemuehle.com as well as at Hahnemuehles social-media channels including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Sample packs featuring various papers and canvas from Hahnemuehles Digital FineArt range are available for just €5. The profits will be donated by Hahnemuehle to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya which collaborates with Hasselblad-Masters photographer Joachim Schmeisser. His iconic elephant orphans motives will be eye-catching at the booth and at the artist signing session.

POLLENATE: A PHOTOGRAPHY & FILM COLLABORATION BETWEEN JAMES KING AND SANDRA CORRIGAN BREATHNACH

The exhibition opens with a Live Performance Art Piece at 7pm on Culture Night this Friday 16th Sept - the main body of the exhibition is Photography with 3 Films comprising a Video Sound Piece and two other Shorts

Venue – Void Gallery, Patrick Stree, Derry.

Connotations of the dark and the light through the visual language of natural materials and presence, intimating balance in contrast and through an understanding of the in-between in experience and in nature and the wider context of interplay and integration of energy between the physical and meta physical forces. Investigating the proposition that apparent opposites can be complementary and mutually sustaining, a coming together a sharing and exchange.

This exhibition is the result of a lengthy Pollenation process between Artists James King and Sandra Corrigan Breathnach. Their contrasting channels of consciousness and separate archetypal sources merged together, which through development and process, a sharing of ideas blossomed, culminating in this Exhibition, Pollenate.   Both Artists are members of Bbeyond Belfast having initially met through one of their workshops and a mutual artistic bond grew both exterior to and through meeting at Bbeyond monthly group performance art events, the essence of which is spontaneity, presence and responsiveness.

The 'Pollenation' process began through a sharing of poetry which later developed into an extensive recorded interchange, both voicing intuitive phonemes and snippets of vocal sound over a long period of time, developed by sonically manipulating and expanding the vocal exchanges to create the Sound piece, then interwoven with video (Pollenate #1). Sounds for two other videos one of which is an animation, are the result of a postal interchange over many months in which the artists created extended abstract poems, alternating verse, each making a response to the other, deconstructing and reconstructing the language.

The Exhibition is comprised of Photographic Prints, Video/Sound, Material objects and Live Performance.
